grinning at him as he spoke of bringing out his mercenary side, she lightly smacked with precision his flexing muscles. "the one who gained my love isn't male. her name is Taiga, and she is a beautiful and icy dragoness," she spoke, smiling widely at him. reaching her arm back to place the spear on her back, straps lashed onto her back as she released the spear. "you do know how to wear that armor well, Kai. i'm much more better when i wear little to nothing," Akrina spoke, playfully adjusting her little amount of clothing, almost seductively without meaning it.

Kai's face brightened at the news. "Really?" Then his face turned confused for a brief second as he thought to how she had a child. There were many ways that could happen as he put it out of his mind as nothing unusual. Watching his friend adjust what little coverings existed he got a sly look. "Really... well you do know you would probably do better without, just a thought"

"let me just get that for you" With that he took a talon and helped a strap of cloth onto the shoulder that was sliding off. Hearing something like distant thunder from a far off ridgeline Kai tensed and none to gently grabbed her and threw his friend out the way just as his body and the entire area around erupted in fiery explosions. As the dust settled kai was standing looking almost unchanged. Opening his mouth smoke came out. "I just finished polishing my mail you ape dogs"

"Lets just go" Kai said to his friend. "There not our enemys. Just twitchy privates manning cannons. You would think they would know the difference between a shadow seeker and me. Not hearing a reply he turned around. "Oh, sorry about throwing you. You ok?"

letting out a laugh as he said she would do better without it, she smiled as he helped with a stray strap. about to say something, she heard the faint sound of a cannon, then was thrown as the cannon fired. landing in the muck of a marsh puddle, she used her tail to stopped herself as she closed her eyes because of the explosion. picking herself up and looking at her mud-slick clothing, she chuckled as Kai asked if she was okay. "yeah, i'm okay. nothing like a mud bath to force your words to truth," Akrina said jokingly, as she turned her back to him. without the single hint of modesty, she took off her muddy clothing and placed them into her pack. bringing her wings around to cover her act as a slightly robe, she turned back towards him, her wings looking like she was wearing a extremely short dress, with her rear and most of her cleavage showing shamelessly.

Ehhhh" Kai rubbed at the back of his neck. "Not my intention. But I guess everything worked out" In his mind she was safe and even better covered in the very element he loved. Good old earth. Not wanting to push his luck Kai chose to respect what modesty she had left and chose to walk side by side with her. His eyes forward. "But seriously, sorry. All my master has had me do is train my body and abilities to harness my element. I guess I still need to get use to my strength. I could have seriously hurt you when I did that. Hmmm, master is always telling me to think more before acting. I am finding it" Turning his head to look at her now he finished. "Difficult.

Getting a good eyeful Kai put his eyes back forward. "I am still developing my stone sense. The ability to feel everything around me by the vibrations in the earth and rock. I'm getting pretty good. But still have a long away ago to mastery. I am honored to be the earth guardians apprentice. But I fear I may have done something naughty. I'm not given leave to be here you see. I kind of just up and left the temple without my masters consent. I really hope he will not be vex with me when I return from righting wrongs in the world.

reaching her arm out to patted his back firmly but friendly, she smiled at him. "don't worry about it, i've gotten hit by much more harmful things then the ground or your strength. remember, i survived a war that ended my world," she spoke, then listened to him. smiling as she thought of her own masters, she chuckled slightly as she remembered disobeying things they told her before. "i don't think your master will mind much. you're not the first one to follow his heart and not tell his master, and you won't be the last," Akrina said with a smile. tapping the ground with her tail hard, she grinned at him. "anyway, if your master is like the earth, then he'll be patient with you, as the earth is patient with the world," she added, patting Kai's back friendly.

True" Kai replied. " But I doubt you were responsible for the world as you know it ending" His response hinted to something few would know accept probably her. Like her, his people were gone. Well, clan an family anyway. But unlike her it seemed Kai blamed himself. True or not it could not be healthy for his mind. At her words of wisdom Kai brightened up. "hey! I like that. Note to self. When I want to sound wiser and more intelligent then I really am. Say that at some time."

letting out a friendly laugh at his words, she grinned at him. letting her arm fall to her side, her grin faded a little when she thought of something. "so Kai, how have you been since we first met? you don't look depressed, but looks deceive easily," she asked, looking at him in the corner of her eye, with her head slightly turned towards him. knowing that losing what one knew entirely in an instant was hard on both the spirit and the mind, she wanted to know he was okay, since he was her friend.

Kai shrugged. "I have new perpose. A noble perpose. But its not as fun as when I wandered the land as a merc given to the whims of the breeze. I have a lover, a witch if you must know. But I don't really think its love as much as it is the joy of each others company. " Well that explained why he implied earlier that he did not believe in love. "I have excepted it that my home and clan are gone. And I finally stopped lying to myself and gave blame where blame was due. Myself. Had it not been for my foolish arrogance and pride. My drunken bragging of the great might of our people and where we lived. My home would still be around."

With that explained it was obvious Kai was right in blaming himself. This was his fault.

listening to him, she nodded at him as he finished. "while i wouldn't agree with your decisions, i'm not you. your not depressed as i see, so that is the good thing," she spoke, smiling at him. rubbing her claw on his shoulder, she twitched her eye as she heard a faint sound on the breeze, almost lost to the breeze. flicking a finger on her right claw, she gave the notion that she didn't hear anything out of the ordinary.

"Depressed? No not at all" Pausing at that he put on a smile and then threw a foreclaw over his face in a melodramatic way. "Oh poor old me yes I am depressed. So depressed that only the pity and love of a sensitive soul could heal my wounds that run deep past the flesh into my very soul" Parting some claws over his face Kai took a peek. "So wanna go for a toss and tumble in the nest?" As much fun as he was having Kai took note of his friends gesture. Taking his tail Kai gently thumped it into the ground. "I'm feeling something out there. I cant quite pinpoint it.

So this was the stone sense Kai spoke of earlier.

laughing out loud at his display, she grinned as she pushed him over playfully as a slight blush came to her face. looking down at her belly, she patted it as she thought about it. grinning widely after a few moments, she grinned with her fangs showing as she looked at him. "that would sound quite a nice thing, but not before we deal with the infestation," she spoke, then drew her spear and slammed it down onto the neck of a small Shadowseeker that moved with lightning speed. as it was pinned to the ground by her spear, it tried to lashed out at them, even though her spear impaled its neck and kept it on the ground. summoning a massive shield, she dropped to one knee as several more smashed into it, not even making her move an inch, despite the force in which they struck.

Kai was not expecting that response from her. More so then the shadowseekers jumping out. Knowing she could handle herself Kai stood on his hind legs grabbing two small shadow seekers that jumped through the air at him. Now falling back to the earth he slammed there bodies into the ground leaving them in small craters. "Time to put my temple training to practical use. You got nothing on this!" Taking a large rock with one clawed hand he flug it through the air causing a large group of there enemys to go diving out of the way. All accept one unaware soul that went flying backwards as the boulder slammed into its chest in an explosive blast of dust and pebbles.

"Cmon!" Kai barked as he came charging forward sending more of there enemys flying through the air like bowling pins as he came charging through them. Turning around Kai felt a hooked chain wrap around his fore claw. Standing back up on his hind legs another chain wrapped around his other free fore claw. "Help me!" Kai called out. They have me!' At this moment he was limited in movement.

as the small Shadowseekers seemed to charge themselves into her shield, she watched Kai throw the boulder, then rush off into the fray. darting her eyes around as the sky began to flood with a swarm of the small dragons, she found it strange that a large amount of the creatures were converging on this area, let alone being similar to each other in species. slamming her shield into the ground to stick it into the ground, she rolled out of the way as several of the Shadowseekers charged her from behind. hearing Kai call out, Akrina twisted the staff of the spear still impaling the first of the Shadowseekers as it still thrashed at her, a part of the staff disconnecting from the spearhead. spinning it to smash the Shadowseeker away from the back of her shield, she grabbed it then spun on her foot. letting it go with such force, it seemed to unnaturally sail through the air, smacking the Shadowseekers that got in its way. traveling into the chains that tried to bind her friends fore claws, it seemed to slice into them as it also wrapped with the chains, freeing the earth dragon while forcing the binders into the dirt as the chains were tugged by the shield. as the shield smashed into a tree and made it snap in two, she summoned a large tri-glaive as a large amount of the Shadowseekers converged on her.

"Freedom!" Kai barked as he ripped the chains free from his wrists. Looking at a new oppononet before him Kai saw she was the smallest of the shadowseeker species. "Just give it. You are no match for me" He warned. A warning she did not heed as she sailed through the air and latched onto his face with a loud smack. "Get it off! Kai cryed as he tugged at the angry female hissing at him like a angry cat. "Get it off! It all worked out in the end as Kai was still standing on his hind legs and spun around blindly causing his tail to sweep aside the last of the large group.

"The earth dragon is to strong. Fall back!"

As quickly as they came those still standing turned tail. Kai was still tugging at the creature on his face and tripped. Almost in slow motion with his massive weight and size he fell backwards on top of a shadow seeker just regaining consciousness. Seeing Kai she only managed a high pitched scream as Kai came landing on top of her. And of course, Kai was still struggling with the assailant latched onto and clawing his face.

as the ones that focused on Kai turned tail and ran away, the ones focusing on Akrina were merciless in their assault. using the center of her tri-glaive to deflect attacks while she dodged, she barely had any the time to strike back as she was nearly swarmed by them. feeling the slight tremor of her friend hitting the ground, she didn't have a chance to look his way before she moved her head to dodge a claw-swipe. as her focus was diverted enough to defense, she let out a yelp as her tail was latched onto by chains. before she could turn to break the chains, she was pulled off her feet and onto the ground. becoming swarmed the moment she hit the ground, she could barely keep her arm from being bound, as the rest of her limbs were bound by chains. summoning a dagger in her unbound hand, she stabbed all those that dared come into reach, as she tried to get her limbs unbound.
