Wayward Path (Open)

Finally taking control of the situation Kai pulled the smaller shadow seeker free from his face and threw her clear over the trees. Seeing his friend in trouble he called out to her as more showed up over a hill. "There are to many of them We are going to be overrun !"

As much as he hated it Kai would have to utilize the earth dragon berserker technique. Focusing his mind onto all the painful things he experienced in life with closed eyes it all replayed for him like a movie reel on fast forward. At last he opened his now bloodshot eyes. Up to this point Kai had intentionally been sparing his enemies lives. He had not taken a single one. But now....

Approaching his fallen friend a shadow seeker lept at him only to be snatched up in his fore claws. Holding the creature above his head he literally ripped it in half raining crimson spray over his body. No matter who you were. Such a sight would would be unnerving. "I will kill you all!" Kai yelled as he trembled in rage. Kai did not remember much of what happened afterwards. All he remembered was coming out of his self induced rage and looking at his red stained body and foreclaws after all the fighting was done.

"Do you know why you will never be one of us?" A familiar voice echoed in his head as he moved the crimson stained talons in front of him in a dazed state. "You enjoy all the killing" As if on cue Kai fell down to all fours and emptied his stomach of its contents.

as the Shadowseekers were ripped apart and struck from the world of the living, Akrina used this moment to free her limbs. rolling backwards as a splatter of blood streaked her face as Kai tore apart one near her, she back away and pressed herself against a tree, disturbed as she watched her friend. remaining frozen as she watched the massacre, she didn't even move when he finally stopped. slipping down the tree and sitting at its base as she let out her breath, she just watched him as he threw up. even thought she had witnessed the berserking of her people before during the war, she had never seen anything like this, even among the most vicious of her battle brothers.

Standing back up kai rested his back against a bunch of trees that creaked under the stress. Sadly a part of berserking was not feeling pain until a battle was won. Grunting kai grabbed something near his abdomen with both fore claws and pulled a spear like object free and dropped it. Reaching up now he pulled another long spear object from his collarbone. This removal of weapons from his body continued for a few moments until he stopped. "Does it hurt to die?" He asked with a trembling voice.

"Its not like the storys." He said with a weak voice. "No feeling of peace. No white light. All I feel is regret"

shaking her head to free herself, she moved quickly to his side and looked him over. running her claws over his wounds as she used her medical knowledge, she saw that she could stop the bleeding, but she needed something. "i'm going to let you die, Kai. i won't lose anymore friends," she said, as she turned and summoned a strange hammer. gathering a bunch of vegetation, she lifting the hammer up and slammed it down on the vegetation, the strange weapon bursting into flames the moment it struck the vegetation. grabbing her dagger, she heated up the blade until it was glowing red hot from the strange flames. pressing the super-heated dagger against one of his larger wounds, she kept the blade against the wound until it stopped bleeding.

"That's the spirit" Kai said weakly as she burned one of his wounds closed shut. Kai assisted her as he could. Pulling his plate armor and chainmail underneath as mush as he could to allow access to his wounds. "I need magic" He said again in weak voice. "Or at the very least a surgeon" Surgery was a new means of medicine in the world. Something born of the new concept known as science. The apes knew it well and few others. "At paradise falls there should be a camp of slavers this time of year" Kai said. "I have done business with them in the past on more then one occasion and they will welcome us. I have a medallion of there friendship in my sachel"

With that Kai groaned. "They have doctors there that look after the slaves. They are skilled in the medicinal arts." With that he went silent. "Don't ask just yet how I have had dealings with these slavers in the past. Just trust me and don't start trouble. I am a client and they value that." So Kai had dealings with slavers and the trade of flesh and lives. It would probably be hard to believe. But with Kais dark past probably not. Or probably he did have good dealings with them. No matter the case it was something that would require trust.

listening to him as she finished searing the last of the major wounds shut, she nodded at him as she did place her trust in him. "i will trust you, but i can't guarantee anything if they start something first," she spoke, moving to pick him up. clenching her teeth as she picked up his large body, she managed to get him on her back, which would surprise, as she didn't look that strong to lift him. "which way?" she asked, as her weapons faded away.

Kai was about to protest as she picked him up. "Your lucky I am not physically mature yet" Kai guided her in the direction as best as he could. But shock and blood loss finally took over and Kai was no use to anyone other then a limp piece of flesh. A wooden walled off compound came into view at the base of the falls. Some of the lightly armored cat people appeared with bows and swords ready for use. "Well look at what we have here. Fresh meat. So nice of you to just give yourselves up to us. Saves us the trouble of finding you. Well MEAT!?" One of the cat races said. "We could do this hard way or the easy way. Just mozy on down to that open cage there."

Kai's medallion of friendship would come in handy right about now.

carrying Kai in the direction he told her, she clenched her teeth as he went limp. coming to the wooden wall, she stopped walking as she heard the feline being start to speak. looking at the one who spoke to her, she resisted the urge to punch him in the face. reaching into Kai's pack to grab his medallion, she showed it to them. hoping this worked, she already was ready to beat this person to a pulp, so show she would make them help.
