Soulmates

Every dragon has someone who is perfect for them, their Soulmate. They are destined to help each other, and once they are together, their bond becomes unbreakable. Soulmates understand each other like no other can, they can sense each other's emotions, and they always know it if one of them is in danger. Some Soulmates even gain access to the each other's minds, but only when they allow it. Even rare are the reports of Soulmates having access to each other's powers. Soulmates trust each other and share unconditional love.

When Soulmates find each other, the atmosphere around them becomes loaded with an electric-like energy, and they will recognize each other instantly. An attraction so strong they can't resist will pull them together, and when they are together for the first time, accepting their fate together, it feels like they're in heaven. Many dragons have tried to unravel the mystery of why there are Soulmates, but none of them found the answer.

Some dragons, however, choose to deny their special bond and attempt to never meet again. It often happens when the Soulmates are very different, for example evil and good. No matter how hard they try, it is impossible to deny their bond, and sooner or later they will meet again. Denial can be a curse, which can end in both of the dragon's deaths.

When one of the dragons die, not only will the other dragon feel the pain of his or her Soulmate, but he or she will also go through extreme psychical pain. Many dragons can't stand the pain and emptiness in their hearts, and choose to end their lives to join their lost Soulmates in the after life. When a dragon chooses to live on, no matter for what reason, they will take on any chance to destroy their enemies and protect others.
