Secrets of the Past and Conquerers

for several hours, Akrina and her newborn slept, her sobs occasionally leaving her mouth. suddenly, she dreams were permeated with dark visions and horrible things, making her squirm in her sleep, while making whimpering sounds.

[Ixion]

He was sitting next to her applying antibiotics to his wound as he hummed a song to see if it would calm her down abit more as he wrapped a tight bandage around his burn mark and wound.

["Cosmos"]

hearing the humming in her sleep, Akrina calmed down slightly as her dreams began to fade away. for several hours more, she slept with the newborn as her body slowly recovered from the ordeal.

[Ixion]

Sitting through out the night as she recovered he reflected on what happened and took a knife he etched a new rune into his flesh after he took the bandages. This rune will help him remain in control if this ever happened again, suddenly he looked to the child but couldn't help but a small smile at it.

as morning came, Akrina began to stir as sleep left her. cracking an eye open just enough to see, she saw Keales, then her gaze came upon the newborn. moving her tail with great speed, she smack it hard into the Panther-kin's head as it came up and scratched her back. shifting her body to lay more comfortable, she drew the newborn closer as it moved, confused on what to feel about it.

[Ixion]

He didn't react to the tail strike and looked at her with a bleed forehead "was that necessary?" he asked looking at her amusingly as if he hadn't had many days of sleep.

["Cosmos"]

"not even close to what is necessary for repaying what you took," Akrina said with a weak voice. flexing her wings a little, several pops sounded from her joints.

[Ixion]

"Then you obviously dont know my culture" he said leaning back indicating to the bandage on his forearm.

["Cosmos"]

turning her head slightly to see the bandage, she recognized a similar action form her home world. turning her eyes to a spot on the wall near them, she weakly brought her hand to cup at her mouth. blowing a ball of poison-like mist into it, she pushed the ball at the spot. as the ball of mist came to the spot, a creature fell to the ground, paralyzed the moment it breath it in and losing its chameleon cloaking.

[Ixion]

He looked at the creature "What is that thing?" he asked his wound under his bandage slightly twinging in pain as the rune made pulsed painfully.

["Cosmos"]

"breakfest," she said, as the newborn's eyes shot open. stretching, the newborn sniffed the air, then lunged over its mother and at the creature. unnaturally, it began to devour it, starting at the throat so it ended the creatures life quickly. "for the newborn, that is," Akrina added, weakly pushing herself up and leaning against the wall. looking in the corner of her eye at the bandaged wound, she infused her saliva with her paralytic poison. cupping her hand weakly, she let some of her saliva pool into her hand. using her tail to grab his arm, she poured her saliva onto the wound, then rubbed it in so that it would start to work.

[Ixion]

He watched her as the rune that was etched in his skin pulsed red "Rune of control, things got too bad so now i have to use this rune" he said sorrowful "Unfortunately it causes immense pain every hour to remind me"

["Cosmos"]

"problem is, your an idiot. i've seen people in my world use runes like this, and you missed three details to it," she said, as she smeared the paralytic saliva over the rune area. once she knew that the area was properly numb to all feeling, she plucked one of her feathers from her head. changing the tip to the sharpest cutting instrument, she made the last details needed to have the rune as safe as possible, but barely deviate from its original purpose.

[Ixion]

"I made the rune like that so every time it causes me pain i will be reminded of my failure" he said not interfering with her.

["Cosmos"]

"i hope you didn't read about this rune in a book, cause this rune holds a very close resemblance to one that causes agonizing death. your lucky i learned more then tracking and scouting skills, cause we can't have you dying and shirking parenting," she said with a smile, though her tone sounded like she wanted to bust his teeth in. once the details were done, she leaned back and watched the newborn as it devoured the last of the creature.
