It had been a few days since he had arrived to Valhalla with Ixion and his family and since his arrival Rapier had hardly been idle. Much of his time was spent exploring the city of Valhalla or having his head stuck into looking up past records of several types of dragon ancestries. It seemed many large cities had such records but majority of what he found involved the Lore Dragons. But so far his search had turned up nothing or even remote evidence that there might have been dragons like him.

Rapier's lineage was still a mystery to him and this usually calm, level headed male was becoming frustrated. Today had been no different as he left the library of the city, making his way through the streets in search of something to occupy his mind. There were many places to go there, and some under construction which he avoided for the time being. And as usual he got some strange looks as he went but he didn't seem to hardly notice this time around.

After some time though he came across what seemed to be a training field, watching some of the guards sparring. An idea then struck the crimson dragon as he thought sparring might just be what he needed to blow off some stream and quickly came over to some of them waiting a turn, "You guys mind if an outsider joins?"Rapier inquired and some looked at each other before shrugging to show they wouldn't mind. And soon as this past round was done Rapier stepped onto the field to take a whack at training with these Lore dragons, seeing two come up to try their luck. And they soon discovered fighting Rapier was not so easy, some spots that might have been vulnerable weren't either reachable due to his spikes or he would make sure he could shift his body so he could defend with the spikes than attack when they backed off.

The two guards finally decided to try from two different sides, from the back and from the front. As the one in front lunged forward Rapier let out a Fire Breathe of crimson flames towards the dragon to force him back once more but growled as he felt the other bite onto his tail, though not enough to cause any real damage but enough it got his attention. Growling slightly he had to dig his claws in to prevent the guard dragging him out of the field and quickly rolled over trying to take him with but as the guard rolled onto his side he quickly let go allowing Rapier to get back on his feet but seeing them backing off fully in defeat. "Oh come on don't tell me none of you are afraid of some spikes."He said seeing some seeing uncertain to face a spiky dragon, "Anyone up to it? Someone actually not afraid of a few pointy ends?"

as the rebuilding of the Lore City of Valhalla continued in the Ebonic Mountains, across the realms in the Crystal Desert, the city of Amitnu was finishing their rebuilding efforts. from the main balcony of the castle that sat in the center of the city, a large Wyvernic dragoness stood at the edge, over looking the city. letting over a sigh, she walked back into the large room that she was allowed with her mate. pulling out a quill pen, she wrote on a piece of strange parchment with a strange ink. once she finished writing, she set the quill down and moved back to the balcony. raising her claw, she opened an Arcane portal. looking back at the empty room, she turned to the portal and walked in.

on the largest ramparts of the wall that protected the Lore City, a portal of arcane energy opened and the large Wyvern walked out, the portal closing behind her instantly. moving to the edge of the wall and looking out upon the city, she sniffed the mountain air. jumping down from the wall, she landed on the ground below without even slowing herself, cracking the ground with her impact. shaking her body of the impact, she began to walk into the streets. when she started to encounter some of the Lores that lived in Valhalla, they gave her looks of surprise, for even though they were larger for normal dragons, she towered over them for several feet at least. after walking for fifteen or so minutes, she soon came to what looked like a training area. as she was about to turn and walk away, she heard the voice of a male, hearing what sounded like a want for a challenge. turning towards the area she heard the voice, she entered the area. "if you wish a challenge, then i may be able to give you one," she said, as she walked forwards.

Still none of the Lore dragons seemed to want to approach the spiked dragon, Rapier beginning to wonder if his spikes were really intimidating these large dragons. Sometimes many were deterred by his appearance, even if he was kind and sincere many tried to avoid being too close to him. This time seemed no different and the crimson dragon was almost ready to give up trying to blow off all this frustration until he heard a female dragon speak up and he turned to face this unusual wyvernic dragoness.

These Lore Dragons seemed nothing compared this female, Rapier actually having to lean his head up with shock and awe. "Well if you do not mind facing a dragon with so many spikes than I would greatly appreciate a match miss."He said to her, giving a slight bow of his head in greeting, "My name is Rapier Thornhide by the way, to who do I have the honor of facing today?"He asked.

looking at him, the Wyvernic dragoness nodded at him. "i don't mind sparring with you, Flame-spike. and my name is Zhatriana," she said, as she moved towards the center of the training grounds. looking at the Lore dragons, she motioned form them to move away. complying with her almost too quickly, they moved away. drawing a strange symbol in the ground, a multiple of pillars rose from the ground. making a large circle around her and Rapier, a shimmering field of energy began to develop between the pillars.

"It's nice to meet you Zhatriana,"Rapier said as he stepped forward a bit but noticed when the dragoness made a motion for the Lore Dragons to move he was surprised at how quickly they complied. A little too quickly. He was beginning to figure these dragons knew who Zhatriana was very well and what she could do, which now hand him even more interested to see what he would be facing in this little spar. And for the moment the young male merely watched her as she made a symbol in the ground.

Next thing he knew several pillars began to rise up around them, making Rapier turn on the spot with surprise as he watched the pillars. What was more when they stopped an unusual field of energy shimmered between each one, making a ring around them in a sense. "Never seen anything quite like that,"Rapier said in awe as he turned to look at the wyvernic dragoness.

"the ring is more for protection then anything more. i can sense that this may be a fierce spar," she said, as a second set of pillars rose further from the first. stretching her wings wide, several pops sounded throughout her body, as she let out a sigh of relief. as several large Lores pushed their way through the crowd, they were shocked as they identified Zhatriana. placing her wing-claws back on the ground, she looked at Rapier. "i shall let you initiate the attack, since you issued the challenge," she said, as the energy arced off her back.

Rapier once more watched as second row of pillars rose, though he looked back at her with an arched scaly brow at her words. This match would be fierce? He somewhat doubted that would be so, even if he proved to be a match for this wyvernic dragoness she'd likely easily take him down with her strength alone. He was lucky to have had his spikes in the last match with the to Lore dragon guards, both who had seemed uncertain of how or where to attack. His spine, neck, and back of his head were all protected and were major weak points in any creature. That really only left his underbelly.

"I have to wonder if you are right about the fierce part Zhatriana, but I think it'll be a sight to see." Rapier told her as he took his stance and observed this dragoness carefully. She definitely had advantage of size and that energy arching off her back certainly had him wondering what kind of powers she held. Taking a deep breathe Rapier pushed off the ground to take flight before he used a comet dash-like attack of his fire element as if to attack the dragoness right on. But at the last minute he quickly changed direction and went for her side instead, leaving a trail of crimson flames to follow.

watching him rise into the air, she easily tracked him as he used his Comet Dash against her. looking at him as he changed directions to come at her side, it looked like she was going to do nothing. suddenly, a shimmering field rippled around her as he smashed into the shield. moving with lightning speed, she grabbed him with both of her wing-claws, then threw him into the air. spreading her claws wide, she used her psionic powers to hold him in place midair. making a motion with her other claw, a miniature burst of arcane magic smacked into Rapier, weak enough not to cause harm, but enough to hurt.

Rapier grunted as he smacked right into a shield, shaking himself slightly from the sudden collision. So she had a shield, well that was one thing he discovered but he didn't know what else to expect from Zhatriana until she moved faster than he could really stop. As he had suspected, she once again had no issue throwing his large form into the air forcing the crimson dragon to try and correct himself in the air. Of course, this didn't last long a she had just shifted to face her before he was stopped in mid-air.

Was this telekinesis she had? More than likely. He had to admit this fight was looking to be in Zhatriana's favor, making him wonder if he'd been pushing his luck to initiate this challenge but there was no turning back now. Watching as miniature burst of some kind of energy or magic approached him Rapier grunted as he was hit but hardly seemed fazed. At the moment he was now thinking of what he really could try against the wyvernic dragoness but at this point anything might do. Taking a deep breathe he let out a blast of several small fire balls in quick succession, faster than what it'd take to fire several larger ones at once.

as the barrage of fireballs seared towards her, she raised her other wing-claw towards them. suddenly, they smashed against a barrier that was not seen. as the barrier shimmered the air as they impacted, she didn't see a single fireball when she lowered her claw. suddenly, it smashed into her face. howling in agony, her concentration was cut when she grabbed to the impact area. stumbling back, she growled in pain.

Once again his attacks seemed futile, watching the fireballs simple smash against an energy barrier that stopped the attack with ease. Rapier was really beginning to wonder who this dragoness was, well in the context of her powers and how she seemed to so easily erect these barriers and stop his attacks. In his eyes this might as well have been child's play for Zhatriana and from his position he would soon be at her mercy.

How Rapier was wrong. Before he knew it the hold on him was done as he realized one of his attacks had hit home! Flapping his wings to stay airborne the crimson dragon looked down towards her, seeing Zhatriana left him an opening to attack outright but of course the fireballs he used had been small and meant to cause only enough to hurt. So this temporary opening wouldn't last long. Flying up just a bit more Rapier finally dove down, putting his wings right at his body to fly faster before he came down swiftly to hit Zhatriana's side, using his own unspiked side to slam full force into her.

as he slammed into her, Zhatriana was sent crashing into the barrier. at the impact against the barrier made the energy wall crack, several of the Lores watching cringed as she watched her slump to the ground. slowly picking herself up, she stood on shaky limps. lifting her head to look at Rapier, the spot where the small fire impacted against her face was more then expected. while the fireball should of only blackened her face, it instead had nearly seared her flesh. "(five years, and i have already become scarred)," she said, her tongue sticking out of her mouth to lick the blood that dripped down her face. lifting her tail to point the end at Rapier, she spoke, "(bluthel nar)." suddenly, a arcane energy fireball-like projectile shot at him with lightning speed, arcane energy arcing off of it as it soared through the air.

Seeing what the fireball did surprised Rapier, having not expected the fireball to have done that much damage as he looked upon Zhatriana's face. Had his fire really been that hot enough to do that or had he not been more careful in controlling the flames? "Zhatriana I didn't mean for that to happen, the flames..."He was cut short when he saw her tail lift and the end pointed at him. The speed of the attack made his eyes widen and snarl when it made contact, sending the young adult dragon off his feet from the force of the collision and landing on his back once more causing the Lore dragons to cringe. Well, least she still had fight in her and obviously she wasn't going to be holding back most likely.

With a slight grunt Rapier turned over on his stomach, once more pushing himself up as he winced from the energy's impact. "What kind of powers are you using?"He finally asked, turning back to face her as he stood fully upright again, showing he still had a lot of fight left in him.

"(this is Arcane Magic, the originator of all magic. and don't worry about this, i have no defense against Elemental attacks,)" Zhatriana said, the rose up on her hind legs. bringing her wings down to smash the ground, the ground cracked under her claws as a wave of magic energy spread out around her. raising her tail once again, she spun her whole body around, sending a cleaving slash of arcane energy at Rapier. once she returned to her feet, she jumped up and did a front flip, releasing another cleaving slash of arcane energy.

"Suppose that explains it."Rapier said, still concerned about this but for now let it go since he had other things to worry about. With a growl he quickly flew up to avoid the first slash of arcane energy but the second one he wouldn't be so lucky as he flared his wings hard a few times to send a few heat waves towards Zhatriana in response to her first attack. Yet, the young dragon left himself wide open for the second attack and growled as he was sent flying this time and crashing through the first barrier between two of the pillars and causing him to land on his back.

Once again Rapier began to stand, growling as he knew if he wasn't thinking faster on his feet or improving his defense he might as well give this one up. His element attacks would only do so much despite that weakness Zhatriana had for elements, yet at the same time the fire in his veins began to feel hotter and Rapier didn't even realize his ocean blue eyes were taking on a fiery red glow to them.
