after a few moments after Nyx asked, Akrina's body stopped tensing as she unclenched her teeth. breathing heavily, her arm visibly twitched. trying to control her breathing, she opened her eyes and looked at the dragoness. "this is the shackles i talked about. these runes are the result of my captivity and torture by monsters known as Daemons. the corruption i resisted has seeped into my being, and continues to turn me into one of them. this is the price for my escape, the fel energy in my body saps me of my strength and energy until i am exhausted," Akrina spoke, looking to the ceiling.

"Think I've heard them somewhere before but I can't be sure. And if there was a way to help...well I'd tell you the first thing I knew of anything."Nyx said with concern, though unfortunately she wasn't certain if these creatures were what she was thinking of and may be something very different then what Akrina was talking about. She had been around for many years so it wouldn't surprise her if she came across something long ago but didn't recall it now. "For now all I can say is if you can rest now would be a good time to do so."She told her.

smiling, Akrina barely lifted her hand and weakly waved it at her. "its okay, i have to just endure this until i can find a way to control or release this energy. until that time, i will continue to resist," she said, laying her arm down. closing her eyes, the Dragonborn soon drifted off to sleep as her mind finally quieted down. becoming so still as she slept, the only sign that told she was still alive was the slightest movement of her chest.

"If your sure."Nyx murmured, watching the Dragonborn female fall asleep and for now allowed her to rest. The young dragon-being needed it and the elder was more than happy to just watch over her until she recovered and lied back in her previous position. For now her attention went to watching out for more Shadowseekers or trouble but she doubted this was likely.

for several hours, the female Dragonborn slept peacefully. laying still as she breath quietly, she suddenly began to squirm in her sleep. as her mind was filled with horrible memories and nightmarish dreams, she made whimpering sounds in her sleep. for several minutes, she she whimpered as she squirmed, until suddenly, she lifted her upper body and awake. looking around, Akrina shivered as she panted in fear.

During those hours though Nyx had finally gotten up to go hunt, only going out to the two rivers flowing from the nearby waterfalls. Though she occasionally heard the whimpers Nyx could only glance up now and again, knowing there wasn't exactly much she could do for the moment. For now she could only hunt and make sure Akrina was alright. And after getting her fill she scooped up two fish that remained and flew back to the cave, landing at the entrance before coming in and seeing the Dragonborn.

"Akrina it's alright, there's nothing here to harm you I promise."The midnight blue-violet dragoness assured her, hearing her panting of fear and figured she had a nightmare. Setting down the fish she nudged them near the Dragonborn, "Here, you should eat, it'll help you recover your strength faster."She offered kindly.

looking at the dragoness as she spoke, Akrina tried to calm down as she positioned herself to lay against the wall. taking the first of the fish, she began to devourer it with fervor, her stomach growling. before she began to eat the next fish, she tried to calm herself, as her runes pulses with her rapid heartbeat. picking up the next fish, she just looked at it, her mind wondering away form the present.

Nyx quietly watched, keeping a close eye on the Dragonborn just in case something might go wrong. Even if words couldn't really help nor could she truly give much aid to this young dragon-being she wasn't going to let her suffer and she could at least try to do something. Though she was soon quick to notice how Akrina's expression seemed to become blank and distant, making the elder female reach up and gently tap Akrina's shoulder with a claw, "Akrina try to focus."She told her softly, hoping the dragoness being would hear her.

jumping slightly, she shook her head as she was brought back to the present. "sorry, i can't help but become lost to my past torments when i have my nightmares," Akrina said, then began to eat the fish slowly. after a few minutes, she finished the last of the fish. "i hope one day to be rid of this terror," she said thoughtlessly, reaching for another fish.

"I'm sure you will."Nyx said, though knew this might not help as she crouched slightly trying to think of anything that'd get Akrina's mind off her nightmares and tormented past for a short while at least. "Akrina tell me, is there anything so far you've found in this realm? Something or someone you like and love? Perhaps something precious?"She inquired, knowing this often could be a good topic for someone to help ease their mind. Least for most people and other times it might just make things worse.

grabbing a fish, she bit into it as Nyx spoke. swallowing what she had in her mouth, Akrina spoke, "unfortunately, no, at least not yet. to be truthful, i have never experienced love before, even in my own world. by the time i reach the age to truly understand such feelings, we were besieged." shaking her head of the past thoughts, she took another bite of the fish. swallowing, she spoke again, "i hope i can find someone to be precious to me soon, cause this torment is turning my escape from the Daemons into more of a hell then a blessing."

Nyx gave her a sympathetic look before lifting Akrina's head so they met eye to eye, "Listen well young one, do not give up hope no matter how bleak something might seem. There is always hope in the darkest of times and somehow that single light can shine through the darkness." She told her and gave her an encouraging smile. "Just do not give up Akrina, there will be a light at the end of this seemingly endless tunnel. Somehow, I have a feeling your light is somewhere and you will find it soon."

listening to her, Akrina smiled at her words. "thank you. i haven't given up yet, and i won't give up until the very end. death will take me before i give up hope," she said, nodding at Nyx. biting into the fish once again, she ate it with a renewed enthusiasm. throwing the fin away, she grabbed at another fish. "do you have anyone special, Nyx?" she asked, before biting into it.

Seeing her new enthusiasm Nyx couldn't help smiling, almost grinning to a point with the fact the Dragonborn was looking a little more in high spirits. "That is always a good thing young one."She said with a smile but shook her head at Akrina's question. "To be honest no. There have been many people I've met, many places I have seen but never stuck to one place to settle down or try and have such a thing. Not to mention I was always busy in the military forces of Warfang for 3,000 years it never became a thought."She answered her.

listening to her speak, Akrina nodded at her, a little sad for her. "sorry to hear that. maybe you too will find someone special soon," the Dragonborn spoke, smiling a little. finishing off the fish, she leaned back as she rubbed her belly. "thank you for the fish," she said, letting out a slight burp.
