Return of the Midnight Shadow(Open)

moving closer to the canyon opening, she tried to get a better sight of the creature. climbing up the canyon wall, she used her eagle-sharp eyes to look at the creature. as she spied it, Akrina let out a sigh of relief with a smile. moving to where Nyx was, the Dragonborn let out a slight laugh. "its a Displacer Beast. slightly different from what i know it as, but it has the signs of it. no worries about it," she said, as the displacer beast peaked over a ledge to look at them.

"Harmless it seems,"Nyx said when seeing the Displacer beast and merely smiling as she realized it wouldn't exactly be much of a threat to them and likely wouldn't try to be. But as the name of the valley might suggest the wind didn't take long to pick up, the gust being quite powerful and making the elder dragoness dig her claws into the rocks slightly and keep her wings close to her body.

digging her claws into the stone, Akrina found the wind to be quite strong. "quite the wind this place has, stronger then most places," she said, digging the claws of her hands into the stone also. crawling to the canyon wall, she grabbed onto vines that grew from the walls for support.

"Indeed it is,"Nyx said as she glanced across the river nearby seeing one of the caves that ran through there. "This way, it's easier to travel through this valley through this cave here." She said as she moved over, mostly jumping across as using her wings she'd end up caught in the winds and landed on the other side. With a brief glance down the valley she then stepped inside where the wind could hardly be felt. In fact it was more of a breeze then a powerful gust like outside.

using vines to get to the bottom of the canyon, Akrina battled with the wind to get to the cave. keeping her wings close to not to get sweep away, she slowly made her way to the cave. just as she was about to get out of the wind, her wings would forced open and she was nearly knocked down, but grabbed a vine at the last second. pulling herself into the cave, she let out a sigh when she stood up.

Seeing Akrina having trouble Nyx immediately moved to help the Dragonborn but a moment before she could she was able to get in on her own. Sighing in relief she came over to Akrina, "Are you alright Akrina?"She asked, making sure nothing had been broken or anything as the winds in here were strong enough even to do that. It'd take a wind dragon to get through this easily but others like her and Akrina would have much tougher time.

"yeah, i'm alright, just still weak," Akrina said, as the breeze in the cave washed over her. "i hope we don't have do much of that, cause that was harsh," she said, a slight joking manner in her voice. looking down the cave system, she saw that many spots were exposed to the canyon itself, essentially making a safer way to travel the canyon.

Nyx chuckled slightly and shook her head, "Not likely. There are some spots that aren't hit by this wind so we might find one eventually."She said as she looked towards the tunnel system before beginning to head through one that wen upwards. With this one she could see a light at the end which she knew lead to another part of the valley and kept following it until she came to the end of this tunnel.

Peeking out she could see it was coming right into the middle of Whistling Valley, but it wasn't far from the bend they could take which lead to a large outcrop of the valley they could land on without having to worry. Though she just hoped the Hermit wouldn't be there.

following Nyx through the upwards tunnel, Akrina looked out each of the openings in the wall as they passed by them. being a great scout, she remembered what she saw and was already mentally creating a map of where they were traveling. after several minutes, they soon came to the end of the tunnel. peaking out, she looked around after seeing the large outcropping. "the middle of the canyon system, i'm guessing?" she said, eyeing the patches of vines along the canyon wall.

"Yes, just around that bend is some thick vines there as well that make it difficult to really go any further just around that bend beside it." Nyx said, looking across the walls and seeing the vines and moss growing around it. "Well then, here goes nothing."She said as she crouched before lunging forward and managing to sail her body across to the short distance to the other side and digging her claws into the moss. Though her back claws slipped slightly, making the elder growl a bit and scramble up slightly before getting a decent holding.

Sighing in relief she carefully began moving her body sideways until she reached the outcropping and jumped sideways once more to land on it. This time she was safe and looked back, nodding to Akrina that it was safe.

watching her sail across the gap between the tunnel and the canyon wall, Akrina watched as she scrambled to get a grip. watching her move along the moss patches until she reached the outcropping, the Dragonborn nodded at Nyx as she looked back at her wings. letting out a sigh, she carefully made her way onto the canyon wall and slowly made her way to the opposite of the outcropping. climbing up, she got to nearly the top if the canyon wall, then brought her legs up close to her arms. drawing close to the canyon walls, she suddenly jumped off as she soared through the air. repositioning herself in the air, the wind nearly slammed her into the wall of the outcropping. climbing down to where Nyx was, she let out a slight groan as she finally got off the wall.

"Akrina!" Nyx said, growling at the unfortunate luck of the wind catching her and quickly rushing over as her immediate instinct was to support the Dragonborn. The elder dragoness carefully rested a paw on her back, making sure Akrina could stand properly since she didn't think the task would be much of a problem. But it seemed it was, between her nearly losing her grip and Akrina getting caught in the wind.

"i'll be fine, Nyx. i just hit the wall with a little too much force," Akrina said, giving a half smile to her. looking around at the area, she looked at every shadowed alcove and every path. "where to now?" she asked, as the faint sound of something reached her expert hearing over the fierce wind.

"If your sure," Nyx said before lowering her paw and looking at the different paths, caves, and crevices before them. "Anywhere I suppose, I did say I'd show you the valley and this happens to be one of the places it leads to different parts." She said as she began heading to one path between a large crevice, having to carefully maneuver over some rocks but otherwise came to a naturally made path. "Though I'll admit, we do have to be careful, this place has it's own dangers."

following Nyx down the path, Akrina kept looking to the top of the walls. hearing the faint sound still, she listened to the dragoness as she kept an eye out for dangers. "what kind of creatures live in this place? cause i'm hearing something that isn't wind," the Dragonborn asked, trying to find the direction of the sound.
