Listening to the Call(Cosmos/open)

Argyros grunted as he flew against the storm that was hitting, having felt the call of something before having steadily grown stronger and stronger since he left the Swamp. And it hadn't been long that Zhatriana directed him the last bit of the way since she had to go which he had bid her farewell and thanked her for everything, having a feeling one day their paths would cross again. Still, the storm tossed him about a bit and the crystal dragon was somewhat glad he had a strong stomach, otherwise he'd be vomiting up the food he had eaten the past week to help regain his strength.

But much to his dismay the wind had picked up so strongly the silver furred dragon was violently thrown off his course, snarling as he was sent tossing and turning like he was in a whirlpool but in the air. "Damn it!"He growled as he struggled to regain himself but only found himself sent flying off like a rag doll being thrown across the room causing him to yell as he went sailing several feet through the air until he felt his body slam into some ground unexpectedly. He went rolling several feet, leaving a small trail line in the ground and leaving him disoriented and somewhat bruised and battered but nothing was broken. Unfortunately Argyros was taking time to recover.

He had never had such a bad crash landing, even his first flight attempts had only been face plants and wrong turning of the body. Now he was so disoriented he could stand straight and actually closed his eyes to let the feeling pass and to let his body recover, realizing he was also exhausted just from fighting the storm.

laying asleep on his bed after having completed a few experiments, the large strange dragon slept without a sound as the storms raged outside. as the shifting form of a very young dragoness squirmed in sleep between him and a dragoness that laid beside him, he opened his eyes slowly as he let out a quiet yawn. smiling as he looked over at them, he silently removed himself from the bed and walked over to the balcony that opened to the outside. standing on the balcony that overlooked a large section of the renewing city that once was fully connected to the island the large temple was built on, he let out a sigh as he saw constructs made of crystal working to bring the vacant city to its former shine.

looking out to the storming seas, he suddenly felt something weird, which made his shifting eyes scan the area. looking down, he saw several crystal spiders scurry towards the temple. jumping off the balcony and landing in front of them, he lowered his head to listen to their resonating skitters. widening his eyes, he motioned for them to lead him to the being they were speaking of.

It took several minutes before Argyros finally was back on his feet, shaking himself slightly to get himself fully adjusted again before turning to see the raging storm. It had been a rough way to travel and he knew the first moment that the storm seemed to die down even the slightest he would chance leaving this place when he was done. For now though he turned to see where he was, eyes widening when seeing a rather beautiful city, one made majority of crystal which made him wonder if this is what was calling him all this time of flying. Taking a deep breathe he began walking forwards, ignoring some of the aching parts of his body from the crash landing he had before.

Eventually though he could see one crystal getting close making the crystal dragon lengthen his stride until he reached it and reached a paw up, resting upon the crystal. He could feel and sense the energy it gave off, smiling a bit as it seemed to feel like an ancient energy radiated from it, a forgotten one it seemed and a power he never sensed before. After a moment though he lowered his paw but before he could try looking in further he heard the sound of someone approaching and quickly turned on the spot, preparing for the worst.

walking through the streets of the renewing city, he watched the crystal spiders move in front of him as they lead him. seeing and sensing the crystals that littered the city growing in strength as the city was renewed, he couldn't help but smile. though the city was coming back nicely, there was always something that made him sad that his and his mates heritage was not coming back. walking past the building that housed the children that still survived the fall of the city, he rounded a corner and saw a dragon.

walking towards the dragon with a raised eye-ridge, he began to notice the crystal features of the dragon. stopping as the dragon turned around, he remained quiet as he looked down at the dragon, since his size was much larger then this newcomer. "name?" the larger dragon asked, looking at the newcomer with curious eyes then ones about to strike.

When seeing the approaching dragon Argyros was immediately reminded of the dragon Zhatriana had described, making him wonder if this was the same dragon considering his body had crystals literally growing from them. "Argyros, some though call me Argyros of the Crystal." He stated, deciding to relax for now since he once again saw no hostility but now grew curious himself. "Your a crystal dragon too I take it,"He said more as a statement than a question.

lowering his head when he asked him if he was a Crystal dragon, he looked into Argyros's eyes. "i was a Crystal dragon at birth, but recently, i discovered something and me and my mate changed into something more," he said, then raised his head back up. "my name is Cosmosaura, Crystal Guardian of the Aura Temple," he said, pointing with his wing to the large temple in the center of the city.

"I see." Argyros said with a nod before he peeked around the larger dragon to look towards the temple then to the rest of the city to which he stepped around to look around a bit more. "So this is the place Zhatriana was telling me about."He said more to himself before glancing back towards Cosmosaura, "It's also nice to meet you, it is the first time I've met someone who is of my kind, well was. But this place...it's been calling to me since I left the Swamp to journey here." He informed Cosmosaura, still trying to wrap his mind around the fact this place even existed.

It was really the first time the young crystal dragon had ever heard of the Aura Temple or of any ancient city around here. The place even radiated an energy he had never felt before, making the dragon want to further look into this place and truly learn what it was and why it called to him so much. "Is...is this where most Crystal Dragons have come from?"Argyros inquired.

listening to him, Cosmosaura turned towards the temple and let out a sigh when the Crystal dragon asked the question. "unfortunately, no. the temple has been a sanctuary for the Crystal dragons, but this is not where we came from. this city was home to the ancestors of our race, which is the thing i discovered. walk with me," he said, as he started to walk towards the temple. walking slow enough so Argyros could walk beside him, the Crystal Guardian began to speak, "this city was known as Aairua once, home to a race of powerful dragons. built from the very essence of the earth, this city was the masterpiece of this race's achievements. but as with everything in time, they disappeared from the world, replaced by their children, four different races of dragons to replace the one." as he stopped talking, he stopped walking to allow a large crystal construct to move down a street, in its arms a large pillar that weighed a couple tons.

Frowning when hearing this Argyros wondered what happened to their ancestors and also to why this had to be a sanctuary for their kind. For now though he said nothing as he began walking beside the much larger dragon and listening to him closely as he explained about the history, making him wonder even more who the other three races were. Pausing though he watched the crystal construct go by, closing his eyes for a moment to feel vibrations and sensing through the earth how far this city was already making him see why it was considered a masterpiece. To him this place truly could feel like home in a sense.

"Then what exactly happened to those four races?"He asked, his eyes closed for a moment before opening them and looking back at Cosmosaura, showing a bit of seriousness and curiosity mixed in for his tone.

not resuming his walking, he turned around and began to walk towards a large harbor. remaining quiet until he stopped before four statues, he looked up at them. "these statues are the four sides of that ancient race, which also became the four children races," he said, the pointed to the far right one. "notice anything familiar?" Cosmosaura asked, as he looked at the statue that looked like the figure was controlling crystals and had crystals floating around it.

Following after Cosmosaura he quietly moved beside the other dragon, his eyes wandering over different places of the city as they went and still finding it quite impressive. With his earth powers and to an extent his Crystal manipulation he could feel the energy and life this place had, making him wonder if he too should someday make this his home and sanctuary, though likely not for many years to come. As they came to a stop though Argyros began looking at each statue until Cosmosaura pointed to the far right to one that seemed somewhat familiar. "It kinda does,"He answered as he stepped closer and looked at the statue, "Seems like another dragon who can create and control crystals like I can."

nodding at his assumption, he took a step forwards. "your close. these four statues are of the same being, displaying the different sides of that ancient races powers. this race was the beginning to our race, and so this statue shows the control of Crystals we have. i also unlocked a secret that the Crystal dragons tried to hide away, and a dark history that was locked away," Cosmosaura said, turning around and standing between the middle two statues, as the light from the sun broke through the clouds and shone on his back. as the light hit him, his form looked featureless for a moment, which almost mimicked appearance to the being of the statues.

Looking back at Cosmosaura as he continued to confirm this was the same being for all four Argyros was a little surprised and curious, wondering what other aspects the being was showing. But as he went on to tell more of what he discovered Argyros couldn't help frowning, part of him now wanting to know what the larger, older dragon had unlocked while the other half of him thought it best to not know since they were locked away likely for a reason. But his initial side won over as he asked softly, "And just what did you find exactly? It must have been important and our ancestors' history bad enough for it to be locked away."He paused for a moment and added, "Please do not hold back any truth, I prefer hearing everything and not something partial."

looking at him as he asked what he found, Cosmosaura looked up at the statue that showed the being shifting its body into different forms. placing his claw against the statue, he let out a sigh. "alright, but there isn't much to say, since i am forcing myself to not delve into it. what i learned was the ancient Crystal Dragons, long before our ancestors, the Crystal Legacy, was born, started a genocidal war against their sibling race, the Siotrax. this war caused the total extinction of the Siotrax, and cast the Crystal Dragons in a dark light," he spoke, still looking up at the statue that represented the Siotrax. after a few moments, he turned his shifting eyes to Argyros, wondering what was going through his mind at this knowledge of their pre-ancestors.

Argyros only nodded, willing to hear anything Cosmosaura discovered but glanced up at the being as he told him what he found and it began to make sense now as to why the Crystal Dragons were now so scarce to show themselves. Perhaps. "War has always plagued the realms since ancient times, suppose it's not surprising but guess it's not something I was expecting to hear. Not really sure what to say to it." Argyros admitted. Even he was at a loss for words, having heard many times of one race attacking another to push them out or to become the single most race and prove they were the strongest, the leading kind, or some other reason, usually selfish ones. "Is this the reason they became so scarce?"He finally asked.
