Soon she had followed him as the maid left and she grunted sitting next to him and sighed drinking the last of the coffee "Come on love let's see what me insane mother wants from me" she said as she led the way the maid returning getting the cup and leaving to start the rest of her day off. As they walked into the vault they saw several guards and the clinking of metals inside the vault.

"Well, guess we know someone isn't a morning person." Rapier joked lightly, mostly trying to keep his mind off the festival for a while as he followed after Trish. But as they entered the vault the large spiked dragon looked at the guards as they passed, making him wonder a bit why there was so many. "So, what's with the high security here?"He inquired.

[Ixion]

"My dad collected a massive amount of dangerous artifacts during his younger years, this entire vault was designed by him, Warfang and Gurin to prevent them from ever being used agian. Although he also kept alot of personal stuff down here" she said as she saw her mother standing in front of the old jewelry cabinet "Hey mom whats up?" she asked getting a raised paw for a silence for a few moments.

"I see." Rapier said as they walked until they came upon Teresa, but he watched quietly as she raised her paw. His tail flicked slightly still in wonder about the vault and why they were there though he was also careful his spiked tail didn't leave scratches on anything either.

[Ixion]

she took out two identical necklaces one was amber and the other was purple. Smiling she tapped the amber and the color matched Rapiers as she nodded "These were both mine and Ixions back when we were mates. Although we hardly wore them we made sure they were taken out for special occasions. I want the two of you to wear them" she said with a smile as Trisha looked at hers which was smaller.

"W..wow mom thank you" she said as Teresa placed them in both their claws.

"They mean unity and future" she said indicating to the inscriptions.

"Thank you Teresa," Rapier said kindly as he took the one that had previously been Ixion's and now would be his. Looking at it the young male knew it was really the first item he'd truly had ever worn, especially some kid of accessory or jewelry of some kind. After a few moments though he sat back on his hind legs and carefully maneuvered it over his main of spikes down to where there weren't quite as many of them at the base of his neck and let it hang there as it hit against his chest a bit as he stood back up again. A sad sigh escaped him though as he looked away for a moment, deep down wishing his own parents could have seen this day or at least knew how far he had come from simply being a loner to suddenly being the next in line beside his mate to rule Valhalla.

Teresa sensed his sadness as she smiled "Your own parents would be proud" she said looking at him and smiled "Come on there are a few more things down here you both need to see" she said with a wink and lead them further into the vaults showing them several artifacts and came to one artifact in particular and looked at her own daughter "This is for him and him only dear so go wait near the entrance" she said as Trisha grumbled and nodded doing as told.

"I certainly hope so." Rapier murmured as he looked to where Teresa had indicated and began to follow the older purple dragoness further into the vault. He looked at the different ones she indicated, keeping each name of these artifacts in mind and eventually found himself stopping beside the two until Trish was asked to leave for a bit. Looking back towards Teresa there was obvious curiousness in his eyes as what was significant about this artifact it was only meant for him.

[Ixion]

She looked at him and he artifact a large gold egg "This artifact is one of the ones only males need to know about" she said as she walked over to it "The only reason I know about it is because I was not born a Lore dragon, this egg guarantees an heir of your choosing male or female. Since both you and Trisha both have Lore blood it will work. See the first egg laid by a lore dragon will be structurally weak and may die. This was developed by my sister to keep that from happening." she said looking back at him. "All Lore females do not know about this flaw in their specsis, they believe it is a custom to have the male take the egg to be "blessed" she said looking back at the golden egg tapping it it opened up.

Rapier looked at the golden egg, having never seen anything like it before but he figured maybe the legendary golden dragons might have had gold eggs. It would have made the young dragon wonder why it was here until Teresa explained everything making him surprised to hear this little detail about female Lore dragons and now had him thinking of his parents again. If his mother was a Lore dragon did she have such a flaw? Or was his father the lore dragon? Once more his head was filled with such unanswered questions and he had to force back them back before he didn't pay attention anymore. Such thoughts could be dwelled upon later.

"I see, then Trish has no idea herself." Rapier observed as he watched as the egg fell open. But having eggs had never occurred to him so suddenly as he was still trying to process what Ixion had said yesterday and the last few days expecting the amber dragon to tear him limb from limb. "To be honest, choosing an heir or their gender has been the last thing on my mind Teresa."

[Ixion]

"I know dear but these things need to be known before any of this happens" she said looking at him and sat down as the egg closed up "another thing you should know is that the first egg that is hatched will always be a purple dragon" she said looking at him and stood "Basically you just joined a family with alot of random secrets" she said as as she lead him back "You can't tell Trisha about this" she said looking back at him.

A family full of secrets? Rapier couldn't help frowning slightly on the inside as that usually meant that could be trouble sometimes, having heard way too many stories of travelerss who had dealt with the same things. "I just hope those secrets won't cause something Teresa, I've heard way too many times when that has come to bite that family in the butt later on." Rapier murmured as he stood and began to follow. "But don't worry I won't tell her, I at least know how to keep a secret." He said much as it bothered him not to say something. Nonetheless he would hold his tongue, Rapier always being the type to keep his promises no matter what unless told otherwise.

Though as they were leaving towards the vault entrance he thought he overheard one of the guards whispering to another about crimson flames making him turn his head slightly to try and hear more but they had stopped quickly when realizing he was listening. Curious he looked back towards Teresa, "Teresa how often here do Dragons have colored flames? Or at least crimson flames?" He asked hoping maybe this might shed some light upon his his parentage.

[Ixion]

She looked back at him "Colored flames usually come from jewel colored scale dragon. Like Ixion his scales are amber and his fire breath is also amber. Ixion's sister has ruby scales and so is her fire breath." she said thinking "But pure crimson? your parents would have to have been both jeweled colored and the mingle of the two would make crimson fires." she said turning to him.

"I ask because my flames are crimson and I've never seen any other dragons with colored flames until I came here." Rapier said as he came to a stop now his face beginning to look in more wonder. Was it quite possible now that this might narrow things down? "I also ask because maybe it might help to know if there might have been any dragons besides me who uses crimson fire." To further note this Rapier lifted his head to breathe out a small stream of flames, showing their dark crimson coloration before they disappeared.

[Ixion]

She watched the flames as he breathed the fire and blinked "Whoa that flame coloration is rarer than any jewel dragon breath" she said as she blinked thinking "there was only one other dragon i knew that breathed fire and that was a general in the old dragon alliance war. His name was Kazyua but he disappeared shortly after the war and nobody heard from him ever.
