As the morning skies were clear from the storm of the previous night two forms would be seen flying in the sky, a young purple dragoness who flew graciously in front of a larger male who was her mate. She looked back and slowed down to fly next to him with a wide smile "Almost home, cant wait for dad to learn that your my mate" she said sticking her tounge out at her mate as she flew next to the spiky male that was her mate.

Rapier soared after Trish as they drew closer and closer towards Valhalla, following a familiar path he had taken days before when he had left the city to start traveling and eventually return home. Though after meeting the purple dragoness and becoming her mate it seemed those plans would have to be put on hold as he followed her to likely a new home. "I don't know if I can share your enthusiasm Trish, your father is a respected dragon and not to mention strong, I don't foresee this meeting going well." Rapier murmured as he looked sideways at her, showing he did have some concerns about telling Ixion this. This was especially so when he hadn't gotten a chance to even really thank the Reagent for his help.

[Ixion]

She smiled and nuzzled him "Just remember all you do is outpace him untill Martivir or my mom can catch him and you will be fine" she said as they walked to the main temple as many of the cities residents bowed their heads to her as they walked and many a hearty greeting as they came to the temple steps and looked at him "Trust me it will be fine" she said as she opened the doors and walked in waiting for her mate to follow.

"You do realize your father is large in size but far more nimble and agile right? I'm built for strength and durability Trish not speed and agility." Rapier pointed out, not being quite so confident he'd outpace Ixion. No, he likely would end up having to enduring the pinishment anf fight back with slightly lethal force if he had to, but hopefully not having to resort to the likes of his Dest Form. Of course he could do that and just use his spikes as a defense which were incredible hard and sharp, likely dealing damage to any dragon who attempted to get close but that also meant risking them being chipped and slightly scratched up.

As he landed in the city Rapier folded his wings and began following Trish, watching as many bowed to her or greeted them, though there was obviously some looks of recognition. He wasn't exactly a common dragon to see so it didn't surprise him many would have recognized his stature and appearance, likely even from his spar with Zhatriana. "Guess it'll all work out eventually." He muttered as he followed her inside.

Walking up some steps she changed her body slightly due to the phoenix blood were she was only a foot smaller than him and smiled as she pushed open the door and saw her father at work signing papers as he looked up at his daughter and Rapier "Oh hello dear, good to see you agian Rapier" he said as he put a paper down and looked at them two "So what brings you two here together at the same time?" he asked,

Trisha spoke up first "Hi daddy um well me and Rapier have some news to pass on" she said as she noticed her birth mother look around and bookcase while a raised eye ridge as the older purple dragoness walked out looking at the two of them.

"Good to see you as well." Rapier said with a quick dip of his head in greeting before he glanced at Trish seeing she was as nervous as he likely was in telling the truth. "Before we do get into that Ixion I wanted to thank you for bringing me here the first time, it was quite worthwhile in more ways than one." Rapier said gratefully towards the older dragon before he flicked his tail a bit nervously. "But as Trish said we have something to tell you." He said before clearing his throat as he gave Trish a quick before looking at Ixion and her birthmother, "Me and Trish have...recently become mates."

Upon hearing this news Ixion sighed loudly and leaned back in his chair with a pleasant smile on his face rather than one with rage "Good" he said his smile wide as both Trisha and Teresa looked at him shocked as he sat forward "I was hoping you two would take to each other, thats why I suggested you headed east Rapier" he said looking at the spiky dragon as Teresa looked at him and Trisha let her mouth drop.

"Well that is uncharacteristic of you Ixion" Teresa said with a raised brow "Would not have thought you would play matchmaker for our daughter" she said as Trisha stared.

"You.....wanted us to become mates dad?" she asked in shock at her father's plans and how they went according to it as he smiled and nodded.

Even Rapier couldn't help his jaw dropping, having been so sure there would be a confrontation or skirmish of some sort before they could calm Ixion down but now it turns out he had simply orchestrated the entire thing. But now the question on his mind was why? "If that was why you sent me east then I guess I'm trying to understand why Ixion. Me and Trish both expected something of a conflict of some kind but this certainly changes things." Rapier said, still in shock and trying to make heads and tails of this sudden turn of events.

[Ixion]

He looked out the window watching the populace move about as they went on with their lives "I'm not young to put it simply no matter how young or old i look. I'm just want to fell secure about the lineage and leadership of our people" he said looking at Rapier "I see alot of myself in you Rapier when I was younger. I believe that you and Trisha traveling together and learning about the land will shape you two into the next leaders of our people" he said looking at them.

Trisha blinked and shook her head "Wha...what your doing this so....you can pass the leadership of the city to us when the time comes?" she asked shocked as Ixion nodded his head looking at her.

"Yes whether me and Martivir do decide to seek out immortality or plan to die of old age I want to know that our people have strong, safe leaders who can lead them" he said.

When Ixion explained his reasons behind the unexpected matchmaking it made Rapier shake his head before speaking out, "Whoa, whoa, wait just a minute. Can we back up a little for a moment? Your really entrusting us to become the leaders of Valhalla when the time comes and yet you'd really entrust that to one dragon you barely know?" Rapier said, having to take a few steps back in this conversation mostly from the fact it sounded rather absurd. He would of course always be loyal to Trish since she was his mate now despite it really being a set up meeting unknowingly for both of them but Rapier saw it moving a little quickly that he'd suddenly be taking Ixion and his own mate's place one day along side the young purple dragoness.

"Ixion with all do respect you barely know me, you barely know enough to know if I could truly be capable of leading an entire city of dragons. Trisha might but I don't know about myself, and I don't want to be the weak link in a chain." Rapier said, expressing some doubts that this could even work. For crying out loud he barely had been in civilization up until a few months ago! "On top of all that I just found out I was even part of this society, a Lore dragon like you or at least to a degree I am. So my main concern is how do you know you have another right dragon to help lead your people?" He questioned, wanting to know how this amber dragon in front of him could be so certain of his decision.

[Ixion]

Ixion looked at him "Because I believe that since you and Trisha will be together your qualities will rub off on each other. As for why I think you would be a ideal leader is because you were far from corruption and greed of the many nobility, in essence your more pure. You can understand between right and wrong and know what may need to be done." he said looking at him.

Teresa stepped forward "Trust me and him, before Ixion became the reagent lord he wasn't even fit to lead a battalion of soldiers without help." she said looking at Ixion.

"Perhaps I might know what needs to be done but I usually do what I think is right, probably going against all society's views of the word." Rapier replied as he frowned slightly. "And I think your placing faith in a dragon who doesn't even had the trust of those here in Valhalla, something of which I think is as important as anything. So quite frankly I think your wasting your decision, but that doesn't mean I don't doubt Trish could do well herself but me and her together would be another story." Rapier stated doubtfully.

With being alone most of his life Rapier had come to the conclusion it took time for people to trust you and for you to trust them. Now he if he were to become one of the rulers there that trust would need to be earned and Rapier didn't foresee that happening any time in the near future, not unless he really did a lot for Valhalla itself.

[Ixion]

He looked at him and motioned for him to walk over and stand next to him as he looked out the window at the citizens of the city "You can start by showing up for the ceremony" he said as Trisha smacked her head hard.

"Ancestors i almost forgot when the mateship of a royal family member happens a festival is held as it is a sign of good fortune" she said as she sat next to Raiper and watched as they prepped the main square "As for earning trust, yea that would be a start" she said.

Rapier walked over to stand beside Ixion, his heart sinking at realizing there indeed was prepping for something going on and he wouldn't have much of a choice in the matter. Well he did but that wouldn't exactly look good to not show up. Though there was obvious uncertainty in his pupil-less misty blue eyes and a hint of nervousness. Being in front of so many had never been Rapier's strong point, preferring to be with others face to face or in small groups. And after a few moments of looking he turned away and began walking towards the door way. "Alright, I'll be there but give me a little bit to at least prepare myself. I don't do well in big crowds, in more ways than one." He told them, leaving the room to take a quick walk to at least prepare himself for the festival to come.

But as the large male walked out a rather familiar form came scurrying in, her yellow and lime-colored speckled scales being quite recognizable by any who knew Veton. "Trish! About time you got back, I've been anxious to see how that meeting turned out." Veton said with a smile, having caught wind of it since she had been staying in Valhalla for a short while, mostly to take a break from traveling to find her lost brother, Deimos. With a quick embrace to her adoptive sister she smiled, "And I have to say he seems quite a catch."

[Ixion]

Emrbacing her adoptive sister and smiled she nodded at Rapier and winked "In more ways then one" she said with a laughed "Love this is Veton she is my adoptive sister" she said and looked at Veton smiling "Veton this is my mate Rapier" she said with a smile.

Back in the office Teresa sat next to Ixion "Was it a good idea to try to force it onto him?" she asked getting a sigh from him as he looked at her with a half cock smile,

"Well it kept me from chasing him down the halls like a ravin lunatic" he said as he smiled as Teresa shook her head.

"You are so odd" she said with a laugh.
