Loner of the Swamp(Open)

Cypreus stretched his large body, getting all the cramps out of his muscles and his joint popping for lying down for so long to rest during the night. With his body fully lax again the adult copper colored dragon looked around a bit, seeing it was a semi-cloudy morning. It seemed like it was pretty good chance it might rain eventually in the day but for now it was nice out. Perhaps today might actually be a decent day and he could hunt in peace.

The male had been there for many years since the time of Malefor's reign, having come there to heal up and allow his now scarred right side regain some form of normality. It had but with a price. He now was weak on this side and had a slight limp every time he walked but he had learned to live with it. Dragons tended to get scars all the time from fights or skirmishes, even training or hunting could result in a scar. By now it was no big deal. Least tolerating it was not a big deal, the major problem was any further damage of this leg would result in no longer in being able to use it properly. So Cypreus often took care to be mindful of this one vulnerable spot.

Today though he saw no reason to, and in the many past days since going into hiding there in the Swamp he had been fine. For now he was strolling through the overgrown mushroom forest, sniffing the air to find something that could appease his current appetite. Despite his size he seemed to have faired well in avoiding much contact with others, even dragons and rarely met with them but normally they were curt meetings and he showed little interest towards most of them. And right now his focus was on hunting.

Some time passed by before at last he saw a wild boar, a large male one that was chewing upon some of the plants that grew below the level of the giant mushrooms. Crouching a bit Cypreus quietly crept forward, waiting till he was close enough to finally leap and pounce upon the boar, a loud squeal being heard until he killed it to the bite to the back of the neck. "Such noisy creatures." Cypreus mused a bit, before he began to dig into his meal.

as the morning sun traveled from the horizon to make the day, a blue figure flew through the sky over the Swamp. scanning the area for the known presence of Shadowseekers, she flew in the direction of the Ancient Grove. as she kept her eyes towards the ground, she was oblivious of the figures above and behind her as she thought of a partner of hers. suddenly, her wings buckled as two figures dove right by her, disrupting the air around her wings. as she plummeted out of the sky, she tried to get control of her wings. suddenly, she was rammed in the chest by a bulky Shadowseeker and crashed through the mushroom treetops. as the ground met her and the marshy ground gave way under her, the large Shadowseeker stood up as several more landed behind it. as the mud seeped over her to coat her in a layer of mud, she was grabbed around the neck and lifted out of the mud. being slammed into a trunk of a tree, she appeared limp.

As Cypreus was finishing his meal and licking his chops clean the sound of crashing suddenly made him stop, listening closely to what was going on. Though the sounds of others landing made the large earth dragon narrow his eyes a bit, wondering who all could possibly coming into the Swamp. Honestly it had been a long time since he heard such a number of landings in one place so he was definitely curious to what could possibly be going on.

Leaving what remained of his kill the bulky, dull copper colored dragon quietly headed through the mushroom trees and following the many scents that were likely the ones who arrived. Even for his size he moved swiftly and quietly as he could, being careful not to make much noise when he brushed against one of the trees or foliage. Eventually though he came across the group of Shadowseekers, although this was really the first time he had encountered them face to face and had only a few passerbys speak of them. Though he could see another dragoness among them, one that was being pinned against a tree and seemed to be unconscious which concerned him that she might be in danger.

Focusing upon the earth around him Cypreus began to cause the ground to shake slightly beneath the Shadowseekers before he growled and caused the ground to rise up in uneven pillars and knocking them off their feet. Charging out after he let out several blasts of earth missiles from his mouth, trying to force them away from the Dragoness.

as the ground shook and the Shadowseekers around the bulky one lost their balance, they were blasted away by the Earth attacks. as they bulky one held its ground and even was able to remain standing after the attacks, it held its grip on the dragoness's neck against the tree. suddenly, sensing the new arrival, the dragoness shot her eyes open and opened her maw wide. smashing her claw into the Shadowseeker's arm, she grabbed onto it and bit down on its neck, the look in her eyes that of the look of hunger. draining the Shadowseeker of its blood, she brought her head up as blood dripped down her neck. as the mud seeped from her body, she moved with extremely speed towards the other Shadowseekers. biting down on another's neck, she drained its blood with mere moments, with her jaws still latched on the Shadowseeker's neck, she raised a claw and blasted the last one with a sphere of Plasma. opening her jaws and lifting her head up towards the sky, the Shadowseeker dropped to the ground, dead.

Seeing the others were easily down and out by his attacks Cypreus turned his attention towards the bulkier shadowseeker, the only one to remain on his feet. This could likely end up in an all out fight, which he was hoping to avoid as he still was weary of the use of his right side in combat but he would have to eventually. Besides he had been training with it for some time to prevent it from every going stiff for long or not being able to use it at all so he might have a chance against this Shadowseeker. That's if they would turn their attentions from the female.

Though it seemed a moment just before the muscular dull copper dragon could lung forward the dragoness suddenly awoke, seeing an unusual hunger in her eyes. That was when she suddenly took out this large Shadowseeker in moments, not only taking it out feeding upon it's blood! Cypreus was faintly reminded of a vampire as he watched the dragoness with a mix of shocked disgust and awe at her speed and quick maneuvers to take out the remaining Shadowseekers without so much of breaking a sweat. But even when she was done something made Cypreus feel uneasy about this dragoness. Something just seemed dark or troublesome about her.

Pushing back his uneasiness Cypreus stood up straight against and stepped forward cautiously, "Are you alright ma'am? From the look of things seemed you had some trouble."He asked, his voice deep and somewhat gravelly.

as the blood revitalized her, she heard the sound of someone. turning her head slightly to look at the copper dragon, she listened to what he asked. turning towards him, she smiled, her face covered in blood. "i'm fine now. thanks for disrupting them," she said, as the blood continued to drip down her body. looking at the bodies of the Shadowseekers, she licked her lips.

"I...can see that now, apparently better then what you initially looked."Cypreus said as he observed the dead Shadowseekers before looking back towards the mysterious dragoness and a little more uneasy then ever at the blood. Though the thing that really disturbed him was the fact she didn't seem to mind the blood running down her body at all. In sense she didn't seem like any ordinary dragon he had come across in his life. And well, he had been around a long time.

Frowning a bit he looked back at her, "You are quite the...unusual dragoness, what is your name and what exactly kind of dragon are you?"He said, not exactly being one to hold back telling his thoughts at the moment. Normally he would let a dragon go their way or another creature be but not this time, Converxia had definitely gotten his attention after her little feast.

turning her full attention to the male, she ruffled her wings slightly. "my name is Convexia, and i am a Vampire Dragoness," she said, smiling, showing her thin fangs.

"Convexia, interesting name for an equally odd and interesting dragoness."Cypreus said to her, tilting his head a bit in thought as the name struck a thought of the infamous realm of Convexity. Why would anyone be called such a thing or was it only further confirming his uneasiness that something really was dark about this vampiric dragon? Though he had to admit this was the first he had ever seen a vampire dragon despite how long he had wander the realms and survived out there in the wild alone.

Now the fact was could he really trust her? "I'll admit, you are the first of your kind I've ever seen Convexia though it strikes me even more that it sounds like your named after Convexity, a realm not many would really be willing to think about."He told her truthfully, knowing this might likely offend her but he wasn't going to lie about what was on his thoughts. "Oh I almost forgot, my name is Cypreus."

"well, Cypreus, it was the name given to me by my mother, who had personal knowledge of the dragoness named Convexity. anyway, it was the only thing my family gave me before they were killed by Malefor. i decided to keep it after joining Malefor. though i would rather throw him into the prisons of Convexity after what he did," she said, the last part under her breath.

"I meant no ill will by it Convexia, I just couldn't help thinking of Convexity when you mentioned it and well it's not exactly a place most people speak of."Cypreus informed her, trying to show he wasn't trying to be offensive and merely stating what he meant, though still found it odd anyone who be named after such a place. But there had been darker and worse names out there, so her name was in a sense unique and different and matched equally with what she was and her appearance alone.

Though when she mentioned her family being killed by Malefor he gave her a look of sympathy and was about to say he was sorry to hear that until he heard the very words that made his somewhat friendly nature change. "You were part of Malefor's army?"He said with a low growl, his tone a little apprehensive as he now became tense and stood in a way he was ready to fight or defend himself if he had to. But his eyes now glared towards her,"The only good thing about one of Malefor's loyal scum is them being dead!"Without giving her a chance to explain Cypreus seemed to immediately jump the gun and lunged at her without warning, recalling those times he had encountered Malefor's goons.

listening to him, she had no time to say anything when he lunged at her. rolling out of the way, she let out a sigh. dropping into a defensive stance, she awaited for his attacks, a saddened look on her face.

Cypreus turned after landing, facing Convexia still with distrust in his eye sand expression. Though he saw her saddened look he didn't know if it was real sadness or just something fake, he couldn't be too sure when it came to Malefor's goons. Though he had no idea this vampiric dragoness was no longer a supporter of the Dark Master any longer so he was just being well ready to defend himself if he had to. The copper dragon once more charged at her, growling a bit and not seeming to about listen to reason for the moment.

as Cypreus charged her, Convexia intercepted him by grabbed onto his neck and shoulders. using her wings to hold add support, she skidded to a stop several meters behind. picking him up, she tossed him away, making sure he landed safely either on his claws, or in a mud pit. returning to her defensive stance, she could tell talking was no good. channeling her energy to increase her endurance, she hoped he would listen after being worn down.

Cypreus growled when Convexia stopped him but even with this his strength still pushed her back several feet which didn't surprise him. Though he was surprised to suddenly be thrown away with ease but he quickly corrected himself in the air to land on his paws, only to feel them sink slightly in the mud and making him move quickly to firmer ground. But one thing he wasn't getting was Convexia not fighting back like he had expected. Or at least from what most of those previously affiliated to Malefor's army might have done.

No, she was staying on the defensive which made the adult male wonder. "Why don't you fight back?"He finally decided to ask, still being in a position to attack but for now slowly down a bit enough to hear her reason.
